U.S. Secretary of Education to Keynote Hamilton Project K-12 Education Forum

U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan will give the keynote address at the Hamilton Project K-12 Education Forum at 12:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 27, in Washington, D.C. He will be introduced by former U.S. Treasury Secretary Robert Rubin, who is a member of the Hamilton Project's advisory council. Duncan will discuss key reform accomplishments to date under the Obama administration. A question-and-answer session will follow.
Earlier on Thursday, Karen Cator, director of the Department's Office of Educational Technology, will participate in a roundtable titled "Unleashing Innovation in K-12 Education: The Promise of Educational Technology." The roundtable will take place at 11:30 a.m.
The Hamilton Project was launched in 2006 as an economic policy initiative at the Brookings Institution. Since that time, the project has released a number of papers, published two books and hosted several events on a wide range of issues impacting the economy.
