8/9/2012 - JOINT BASE SAN ANTONIO-RANDOLPH, Texas (AFNS) -- Air Force officials are seeking nominations for the 2013 Department of Defense African American History Month Recognition Award.

The award honors military members who have distinguished themselves, demonstrating role model qualities and the core values of their respective military service. The period of performance for this award is from February 2012 through January 2013.

Organizations and base-level personnel must contact their major command, field operating agency or direct reporting unit for applicable suspense dates and additional information regarding nomination procedures.

Each MAJCOM, FOA and DRU may submit only one nomination.

Completed nomination packages are due to the Air Force Personnel Center by Nov.9.
