Description: UNH Manchester is the sixth undergraduate college of the University of New Hampshire and is the urban commuter campus of the University. As the University of New Hampshire's urban commuter college, UNH Manchester provides people who live and work in the Merrimack Valley region with the best of both worlds -- the benefits of the respected UNH education at a more affordable commuter campus that is rich with academic, cultural and recreational resources and opportunities.
Located in the population center of the state approximately 39 miles from the main campus in Durham, UNH Manchester offers liberal arts majors in English, psychology history, humanities, communication arts, politics and society, and pre-professional programs such as business, computer information systems, and sign language interpretation. UNH Manchester also offers two year associate degree programs, including the college transition program, a gateway to college for those who need to strengthen their academic skills before entering a degree program. The college's undergraduate majors are built on a strong liberal arts foundation with special emphasis on urban issues and the practical experiences needed for successful careers in the future. UNH Manchester also hosts graduate degree programs offered through the Center for Graduate and Professional Studies. UNH Manchester welcomes non-traditional students; each semester approximately 25%-35% of the undergraduate degree student population is over the age of 25. Student/faculty ratio is 13:1 (fall 2009)

UNH Manchester offers courses in alternative delivery models and schedules, including blended course delivery (online and face-to-face), eight-week courses, eight week blended, one-week intensive courses, and January term and summer term courses on three-week and five-week models.

The University's Veterans Coordinator holds office hours at UNH Manchester. UNH Manchester is committed to supporting each student's success in college and in life. Our Center for Academic Enrichment offers a variety of academic support services such as tutoring in writing, mathematics, and academic skills essential for student success.

The UNH Manchester Students Veteran Advocates Team is composed of student members who have served in the military, staff with expertise in key student and academic support offices to whom veterans can turn for answers, and faculty members with a commitment to educating fellow faculty on returning service members and their needs as they transition to civilian life, especially from combat to the classroom. We provide an ongoing assessment of the college’s strengths and weaknesses in serving students who served in the military.
Students have formed a student veteran organization with a focus on social networking and career development.
UNH Manchester hosts a virtual organization for our undergraduate student veterans with all campus veterans as members. Veterans participate in discussion threads, post questions and receive answers, and are made aware of events and policies impacting their student experience. UNH Manchester sponsors appreciation events and public events for student veterans.
