Incentives for Enlisted Soldiers

The National Guard is offering incentives to individuals enlisting in certain critical skills and units. Eligibility requirements for bonuses vary. Below are a few highlights of the Guard's Enlisted Bonus policy:

Non-Prior Service Enlistment Bonus (NPSEB)- up to $15,000
If you haven't served in the military before, enlistment bonuses may be available when you enlist in a critical military specialty or critical unit. For more information please contact your local recruiter.

Prior Service Enlistment Bonus (PSEB) – up to $15,000
For Soldiers who have been separated from the military and possess a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) that is considered critical for the National Guard, you may be eligible for this incentive.

Re-enlistment Extension Bonus (REB) – up to $10,000
Soldiers who re-enlist or extend their current term of service may be offered an incentive, based upon term, critical skill or unit of the Re-enlistment Extension agreement. Incentive amounts vary, so contact your State Incentive Manager for details.

MOS Conversion Bonus (MOSCB) - $2,000
Current enlisted Soldiers may volunteer to retrain into a new Military Occupational Specialty (MOS) where there is a shortage of qualified personnel. Positions vary from state to state, so check with your unit's Readiness NCO or state Incentive Manager about current MOS availabilities.

Student Loan Repayment Program (SLRP) – up to $50,000
The Student Loan Repayment Program can pay up to $50,000 for existing student loans.
