Army MWR Salutes Fort Knox!
The American Academy for Park and Recreation Administration (AAPRA), in partnership with the National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA), is pleased to announce the Finalists for the 2012 National Gold Medal Awards for Excellence in Park and Recreation Management. Founded in 1965, the Gold Medal Awards program honors communities in the U.S. that demonstrate excellence in parks and recreation through long-range planning, resource management, volunteerism, environmental stewardship, program development, professional development and agency recognition. Applications are separated into five classes based on population. This year, the Gold Medal Award is expanding to include a new category for Armed Forces Recreation communities.

2012 Arts and Crafts Contest Winners Announced
SAN ANTONIO -- Winners of the 2012 Army Arts and Crafts contest were recently announced by the Community Recreation program of the U.S. Army Installation Management Command Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation directorate (G9).
The winners were chosen from among accomplished and novice artists who are authorized patrons of Morale, Welfare and Recreation programs on installations around the world.
First-place finishers were identified from forts Stewart, Campbell, Rucker, Jackson, Bragg, Hood and Leavenworth as well as Army garrisons at Vicenza, Italy; Heidelberg, Germany; Camp Casey, Korea; Camp Zama, Japan and Schofield Barracks. The artists are Soldiers, military Family members, civilians, DoD Family members and retirees.
