Biography

Ms Davidson’s research focuses on developing and utilizing models to refine our understanding of how a diverse set of drivers - geological, technical, economic, regulatory and societal - combine to impact how carbon dioxide capture and geologic storage (CCS) technologies could deploy domestically and abroad. Ms Davidson was a principal author of the first-of-its-kind CO2 storage capacity assessment and coupled cost curve for North America, and has recently completed a second such study for China. These reports highlight Ms Davidson’s contribution to the body of CCS literature, which also includes cross-cutting work with regulators and researchers in other disciplines to understand how complex, real-world constraints may impact geologic storage, groundwater and other resources. Applications of this work include preliminary CCS project siting studies to help private industrial clients evaluate their emissions mitigation options; consulting work for governmental and non-governmental organizations working to support and craft regulation based on robust science and grounded in good economic principles; and multinational organizations seeking a broader understanding of the potential for CCS technologies to serve a global role in addressing climate change over the coming decades.
