Over two million elderly adults are estimated to be victims of abuse and maltreatment annually. Senator Kirk and his colleague, Senator Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.), have launched a campaign to bring awareness to the issue, and passed a resolution in the Senate recognizing June 15th as World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.
