General Small Business Loan

Total votes: 39
Detail Description:

The 7(a) Loan program is the SBA's primary business loan program. It is the agency's most frequently used non-disaster financial assistance program because of its flexibility in loan structure, variety of loan proceed uses, and availability. The program has broad eligibility requirements and credit criteria to accommodate a wide range of financing needs. The business loans that SBA guarantees do not come from the agency, but rather from banks and other approved lenders. The loans are funded by these organizations, and they make the decisions to approve or not approve the applicants' requests. The SBA guaranty reduces the lender's risk of borrower non-payment. If the borrower defaults, the lender can request SBA to pay the lender that percentage of the outstanding balance guaranteed by SBA. This allows the lender to recover a portion from SBA of what it lent if the borrower can't make the payments. The borrower is still obligated for the full amount. To qualify for an SBA loan, a small business must meet the lenderメs criteria and the 7(a) requirements. In addition, the lender must certify that it would not provide this loan under the proposed terms and conditions unless it can obtain an SBA guaranty. If the SBA is going to provide a lender with a guaranty, the applicant must be eligible and creditworthy and the loan structured under conditions acceptable to SBA.

Eligibility:

Must be a for profit business & meet SBA size standards; show good character, credit, management, and ability to repay. Must be an eligible type of business.

I am a 48 year old African American female Chef I have worked in the food service industry for more than 30 years I have worked hard for other people over the years, helping them improve or open their restaurants and deli departments. I cook healthy organic clean natural foods. Not the typical African American diet of fried chicken, fried fish or BBQ. I’ve helped open 5 delis for whole foods markets (Napa, Roseville, Oakland, Santa Cruz and Capitola I was a chef at a bed and breakfast in Napa I took on recreating and relocated the deli, kitchen and bakery departments for Staff Of Life market in Santa Cruz I’ve helped re-created menus and décor for restaurants in Sacrament, Rocklin, Alameda and Oakland I’ve made a lot of money for other people. I have nothing to show for it myself. Working for someone else at this time in my life, with my age and my experience, would be IMPOSSIBLE. Employers wouldn’t be willing to pay me what I’m REALLY worth. I still have A LOT off fight left in me! I want my own small café. I want to finally have control and offer my own high standards and quality. Feathers Poultry café will be an upscale deli/café located in the most prominent neighborhood of Harbor Bay Island in Alameda CA. average household income in 130k average home in the area sells for 750k. It’s a great location and a great opportunity! Feathers will be a “Green” building with sky lights and ceiling fans, led free paint, clean energy, recycle and compost, bio degradable paper goods and ecofriendly cleaning supplies. Feathers will be the first small café to prepare all of its food using The Rational (combi steamer oven) it’s a combination oven and steamer usually used in places like Whole Foods and Staff of Life markets, high end hotel and upscale casinos. Steam makes meat tender and juice, vegetables are perfectly cooked and even eggs can be poached to perfection. Fully cooked foods will be steamed to 165 degrees and served to customers or put into a small hot bar. Right now I’m taking an 11 week even course at the WOMENS INITIATIVE SELF EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM working on my business plan. I’m hoping to get funding and open by next summer

Honestly, when the world is in financial trouble, why would your US goverment require you to have good credit, when the government themselves has had issues with credit. This is a huge barrier for small businesses that are just haning on. Is there any help for a small business with not so good credit or are they stuck in the same situation with millions of Americans. The so called economy that is getting better, leaves the working class and the poor out of the equation!

Sounds to me like the SBC is just here to get loans to pay for themselves and their friends relatives to have a job. They are not really here to HELP you, only refer you to someone else. We can do that by ourselves. We dont need to cal the SBC for them to act like you are bothering them and then just give you a number to call and hang up. That is the BIG problem with this country. Companies like this getting loans, donations ,money from the government just to pass you around and not help you.

I'm trying to start my own business but I need at least $200,000 for equipment etc... if I could ever get started and someone would give me a chance my business would skyrocket and I could pay that loan back in just a couple of months there is nothing like what I'm wanting to do but the banks wont loan me any money because I don't have any credit I have one question how do you get credit if no one will give you the chance? and no I don't have anyone that can co-sign for me!

My brother and I want to start our own Hot Dog Business. We will need, roughly, $80,000.00 to get started. We are both military vetrans. We know that this business will explode and the profit margin will be large. I have a business degree and I want to put it to use. Both of us will work real hard to make this business successful. I am in need of some good information. Thank you

I was told that in order to get a loan i would have to have something for collateral and nothing I will purchase for the business will be of enough value since I will be making most things by hand. Can you please help?

Don't you see by now that the SBA is useless?? Just another government, tax payer paid, do nothing branch that looks good on paper.

this is worthless. No wonder our economy is failing. The people with new ideas cannot get money to fund them, thus there are no new jobs. This program does nothing to help the situation
