Community First Choice 1915 (k)

The “Community First Choice Option” lets States provide home and community-based attendant services to Medicaid enrollees with disabilities under their State Plan.

This option became available on October 1, 2011 and provides a 6 % increase in Federal matching payments to States for expenditures related to this option. A notice of proposed rulemaking for the Community First Choice State Plan Option was published in the February 25, 2011 Federal Register. Further guidance will be issued before October 1, 2011. Community First Choice was established under the Affordable Care Act of 2010.
