HUD Joins NYC to Assist Veterans

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) joined the NYC Dept. of Housing Preservation & Development and Mayor's Office of Veterans Affairs (MOVA) at a workshop to assist veterans looking to rent or purchase homes in New York City. Veterans were able to learn about and access numerous housing programs and services at the event. HUD NY Senior Management Analyst Earleene Sealy was on hand to assist with housing inquiries, including questions about the HomeFirst Down Payment Assistance Program. This program, funded by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, provides qualified homebuyers with up to $15,000 towards down payment assistance and closing costs on a new home. Approximately 1,400 homeless veterans have found permanent housing and support services in New York City under the HUD/VASH program.
