NCUA is the federal agency that charters and supervises federal credit unions and insures savings in federal and most state-chartered credit unions across the country through the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF), a federal fund backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government.

This position is located in the Region II, Division of Supervision in Alexandria, VA. The incumbent of this position will provide administrative and technical assistance to the Division of Supervision.

As a Supervision Technician, you will compile, tabulate, and analyze raw data necessary to monitor and project regional progress in the supervision and examination program; prepare reports stating accomplishments to date and project requirements for reaching established goals; research exam data, work projects, and reports; handle the processing of credit union and member inquiries; gather and compile data in order to prepare, finalize, and distribute monthly reports; type a variety of documents, i.e., letters, memoranda, reports, and forms; perform administrative and other duties as assigned by the Director of Supervision; and provide backup support to other Division of Supervision staff.

You must have one full year of specialized experience comparable in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.

To qualify at the CU-06 level: You must have one full year of specialized experience comparable to at least the GS/CU-05 level in the Federal Service. Qualifying experience is experience proofreading correspondence for appropriate sentence structure, (i.e., using voice and tense correctly, sentences in paragraphs are clear and related to each other as well as related to the topic sentence); scheduling appointments; researching and analyzing information; researching data and compiling information for use in statistical reports, schedules, and graphs; establishing office files and records; reviewing and verifying data for mathematical accuracy and completeness; developing routine correspondence; monitoring the flow of incoming correspondence, mail, reports, and following up on status items; reviewing reports/claims forms to determine accuracy and reporting any errors; using computer software to update and input data, prepare mail-merge documents, prepare presentations, export data to other applications, or equivalent experience.

To qualify at the CU-07 level, you must have one full year of specialized experience comparable to at least the GS/CU-06 level in the Federal Service. Qualifying experience is experience analyzing and reconciling information for use in statistical reports, schedules, and graphs; analyzing financial data for accuracy and completeness; developing a variety of written products, using proper grammar, punctuation, format, spelling, and sentence structure; reviewing outgoing correspondence for conformance to known administrative policies and regulations; preparing reports and documents that include tables; developing basic formulas (add, subtract, multiply, divide); developing graphs and charts; prioritizing assignments and tasks; gathering and analyzing data, drawing conclusions, and providing solutions or recommendations; performing queries; or equivalent experience.

If you are selected for this position at the CU-06, you may be non-competitively promoted to the next level through CU-07 level provided that you have fulfilled the necessary qualification requirements including any applicable certification processes. Promotion is not automatic and is conditional on demonstrated ability to perform the higher grade level duties, a current written performance appraisal rating of "fully successful" or better, fulfillment of the necessary qualification requirements, and sufficient work at the higher grade level position.

SALARY: Pay will be set using NCUA's Compensation policy. The salary range shown is NCUA's National Pay Rate (NPR) which includes a locality rate of  24.87 percent for the Alexandria, VA geographical area. NCUA IS A COMPETITIVE SERVICE AGENCY.
