National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day is part of a larger effort by SBA and AARP to promote entrepreneurship among individuals ages 50 and older. It will consist of events across the country that will match encore entrepreneurs with mentors who have small business experience. The West Virginia event will incorporate a Mini-Resource Fair where small business experts from the Charleston SCORE Chapter, West Virginia Women’s Business Center, the West Virginia Small Business Development Center and the SBA will be available to meet individually with and provide professional business advice to encore entrepreneurs.
The U.S. Small Business Administration and AARP will team up Oct. 2 to host the National Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day. The event is targeted at entrepreneurs over the age of 50 to match encore entrepreneurs with successful business owners and community leaders for advice and assistance. West Virginia’s Encore Entrepreneur Mentor Day will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Charleston Area Alliance located at 1116 Smith Street, Charleston.
