MML Program Area: Physical Infrastructure

The Material Measurement Laboratory's work in the field of physical infrastructure provides the underpinning measurement science, including non-destructive evaluation techniques, needed to assess the health of aging physical infrastructure components and materials, predict their lifetime and failure, and gauge their performance under extreme environmental conditions, in ways that enable the nation to prioritize infrastructure remediation and manufacture more resilient infrastructure components.
