Review of Weight Lifting Program crew exercising on boat

Description
Weight lifting includes using resistance and movement to increase muscular endurance and muscular strength. The intensity of the resistance and the number of repetitions will dictate whether "bulk" or "tone" is achieved.  Resistance training of any kind is important for maintaining body weight.

Pros:  Weight lifting is a good way to increase your metabolism and overall strength.

Cons:  Weight lifting, when done improperly, can cause injury.  Many typical weight lifting moves are not functional movements.

Cost:  The variable range from a couple hundreds to thousands.  It is suggested to go to a local gym and see what type of equipment they use.  If you are planning on lifting large amounts of weight get the right equipment i.e. benches, barbells, racks.
