Clean Water Act data shown in ECHO come from the national program database Permit Compliance
System (PCS) or from the modernized system, ICIS-NPDES (Integrated
Compliance Information System - National Pollutant Discharge Elimination
System). ICIS-NPDES is gradually replacing PCS. The
states/territories/tribes listed under the ICIS-NPDES search button
below use ICIS-NPDES, and thus do not enter data into PCS. ECHO has
separate query interfaces for PCS and ICIS-NPDES. To view data from a
particular state, please choose the appropriate interface by clicking a
search button below (states/territories/tribes using each system are
displayed under each search button). For national or regional searches,
you will need to do two separate queries - one with each interface.
Alternatively, you may use the All Data Search if it includes all of the
search options you need. The ICIS-NPDES interface is similar to the
long-standing PCS interface, but includes additional menu choices that
are not available in PCS (for example, the ICIS-NPDES interface allows
searching based on permit components).
You can also search through PCS and ICIS-NPDES facility, permit, discharge monitoring report, and pollutant loading data with the DMR Pollutant Loading Tool.
