The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is building a library of violence prevention courses which will be found here.

Many courses offer FREE CDC accreditation, including:
CME, CNE, CEU, and CECH credits and Certificates of Completion.

You are not required to apply for accreditation or a Certificate. We welcome everyone interested in preventing violence to experience our courses.

All courses are designed to be engaging and informative. The presentation uses video and audio, animation and graphics. You will hear from respected experts in the field of violence prevention and you will be encouraged to experience interactive exercises that let you use the information --- a great way to ensure knowledge retention!

FREE COURSES CURRENTLY AVAILABLE

  • Principles of Prevention (POP)

    Optional Credit (CME, CNE CEU, CECH,) and Certificates of Completion

    Learn the fundamental concepts for violence prevention:
    Primary Prevention - Social Ecological Model - Public Health Approach

    We consider this a core course.

  • Dating Matters

    Optional Credit (CEU) and Certificates of Completion

    This course relates to Intimate Partner Violence. It is created to help educators, school personnel, youth leaders, and others working to improve the health of teens. It features interviews with leading experts, dynamic graphics and interactive exercises, and compelling storytelling to describe what teen dating violence is and how to prevent it.
