Opportunity Description: 

General Park Operations Volunteer

Duties include assisting park staff with day-to-day operations and maintenance tasks. These can include staffing the park entrance station, cleaning campsites and restrooms, mowing lawns, landscaping, painting and general upkeep of park facilities. Volunteers serve as the emergency contact overnight one to two weeknights per week while the resident park ranger is off duty.

Molly Stark State Park was established in the 1940 and was built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, and expanded by the State of Vermont in 1958. The park inludes campground, hking trails, lookout tower and group picnic shelter. The park borders 600 acres of locally conserved lands and shares a trail system.

All staff receive on the job training for all duties. Uniforms provided.

Opportunity Description: 

General Park Operations Volunteer

Duties include assisting park staff with day-to-day operations and maintenance tasks. These can include staffing the park entrance station, day use area or concession; cleaning campsites and restrooms; mowing lawns; landscaping; painting and general upkeep of park facilities. Elmore State Park has a campground and beautifully restored CCC-era day use area on the north shore of Lake Elmore and includes most of the terrain on Elmore Mountain. The park has a fantastic fire road and hiking trail to the top of the mountain where a former fire lookout tower provides dramatic views of the northern Vermont Green Mountains. There is also a self-guided natue trail. On-the-job training is provided for all duties and tasks. Uniforms provided.
