General Information - What To Expect Once Selected For Warrant Officer Training

Congratulations, Now What?

The first step recommended is to review the WOCS Web Site. You will find multiple sources of information to include a checklist to ensure you arrive with the correct equipment; Security Clearance information for individuals that have not completed their Secret level clearance; and course information to try and limit the number of surprises for candidates when arriving.

Currently the three biggest delays in starting WOCS is:

  1. Physical expiring prior to graduation - you must ensure your physical will carry you through your WOCS graduation. (Aviators - 18 Months and Technicians - 24 Months) If you are close - it will be strongly advised to get an updated physical prior to arrival. Candidates possessing physicals that do not cover complete attendance through Warrant Officer Candidate School may result in denied enrollment.

  2. Security Clearance Issues - make sure you don't show up with surprises for the Security Office at Ft. Rucker. If the Ft. Rucker Security Manager cannot verify you clearance - you will not start WOCS. The only form accepted after 9 April 05 will be the Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) printout. It is your responsibility to ensure you carry a copy with you to Ft. Rucker.

  3. Physical fitness - your arrival date is not a surprise, therefore the APFT you'll take within the first week should not be a surprise either. Make sure you are mentally and physically fit - remember this is an officer producing program, the APFT grading standards are strictly enforced.

Once selected you can expect to receive notification Request For Orders (RFO) of your Warrant Officer Candidate School class date via email 90 days after selection. Your local Reassignment / LEVY section will receive notification of your upcoming class on or about the same date you receive you email notification. The Reassignment / LEVY section will publish your orders.

Please do not call or email the Warrant Officer Recruiting Team about your orders for at least 90 days after the release of selection board results.

If you have concerns because of upcoming deployment, conflicting school dates with other DA select programs (Drill Sergeant, NCO academy, Recruiting, ETC..) PCS or family issues, you can find information on how to change a class date on the HRC WOCS sites:
