Italian police hunt for missing woman's body at Camp Darby

PISA, Italy — Police on Monday began digging at a U.S. military base in central Italy for the body of a 45-year-old Italian businesswoman who vanished from her home near Pisa on January 13 and is feared dead.

Fifty police officers and sniffer dogs began searching for Roberta Ragusa's body at the Camp Darby military base, between Pisa and the coastal city of Livorno, where the hunt is focused on a pine forest and surrounding fields.

The only formal suspect in the mother-of-two's disappearance currently is her husband Antonio Logli, who had a longstanding affair with the family's former babysitter and friend.

An Italian psychologist and a criminologist are reportedly writing a book about Ragusa's mysterious disappearance called 'The mystery of Gello', a reference to the town near Pisa where Ragusa and her husband lived.
