Urban Pursuit Modeling
NIJ is investigating a pursuit prediction technology that will provide real-time information to officers making decisions during a pursuit. This technology will tell officers about typical traffic patterns for the time of day, the location of construction and events, and other circumstances an officer might encounter during a high-speed chase. This tool should assist in assessing and allocating resources to end a pursuit in a safe and timely fashion.
