Brussels football preview capsule

Brussels Brigands

Head coach: Tim Mobley
Last year: 1-4, missed playoffs
Key games: Sept. 8 at Menwith Hill, Sept. 15 vs. Bamberg
The Brigands, who posted their first victory in four years last October, 16-6 over the Brussels Bulls, have modest aims this season, according to head coach Tim Mobley.
“Our goals are to keep everybody healthy and get better every week,” Mobley emailed.
Keeping people healthy is big for any small-schools team, but it’s even more vital for the Brigands, who return precisely one senior from 2011.
“We have a young squad again,” Mobley emailed. “We are hoping that the young players can again fill the gaps.”
Brussels faces immediate tests, opening at Menwith Hill against the 2011 D-III semifinalists and welcoming D-III finalist Bamberg the following week.
