The changes contained in General Order 12-15 have been integrated into the Local Rules Files and can be found in our Local Rules Section.

NOTICE & COMMENT PERIOD - LOCAL RULE CHANGES

Any public commentary pursuant to 28 U.S.C. Section 2071(b) regarding the recent amendments to LR CV-62 and LR AT-1 contained in General Order 12-15 should be conveyed to the Clerk of Court no later than the close of business, October 26, 2012.

Law Day Art Contest 2013

In 1958, President Dwight D. Eisenhower designated May 1st as Law Day, which is meant to celebrate and strengthen the American heritage of liberty, justice, and equality under the law.

E-filing Notices

Duty to Keep CM/ECF Account Information Current

Per Local Rule CV-5(a)(2)(A), it is the attorney's responsibility to keep their account information, including the email address, current in CM/ECF.

If you are not receiving Notices of Electronic Filing (NEFs) e-mails in your Texas Eastern cases and you think you should be, please update the e-mail address in your CM/ECF account. To do this please follow these instructions: Maintaining Your CM/ECF Account

Local Rule CV-5(a)(2)(A)(i) was abolished by General Order 12-6 in late February 2012. The clerk's office will no longer monitor and remedy "bounce-back" e-mails when a filed document is sent to an attorney in CM/ECF.

Megabyte Limit Increase

The megabyte limit for filing documents in CM/ECF has been increased from 5 megabytes to 15 megabytes. The Eastern District local rules are currently being updated to reflect this change. It is recommended that scanned documents be set to a resolution of 300 dpi.

Electronic Public Access Fee Increase

The electronic public access fee to court records through the PACER service is scheduled to increase from $0.08 to $0.10 per page effective April 1, 2012.. Click here for the complete press release.
