USPTO has comprehensive and professional training opportunities available throughout the examiner’s career. Training is a vital and required part of employment for every USPTO employee. Training programs and instruction are tailored to each employment role.

Enterprise Training Division

The USPTO Enterprise Training Division (ETD) offers consultative services and provides agency-wide training and organizational development resources. ETD works with all USPTO business units to design and implement training that meets their needs and the business objectives of the USPTO. ETD also serves as a resource to managers and supervisors.

Learning Management System

The USPTO Online Learning Training Center is a state-of-the-art e-Learning management and delivery system. The site hosts a variety of learning and developmental services, such as online courses, testing, and skill enhancements. It offers direct access to the courses available to USPTO employees and one central location to store and update contact information, register for classes, and manage class schedules.
