GCCS-J is focused on meeting emerging operational needs through sustainment and synchronization support to operational baselines (Global, and Joint Operations Planning and Execution System (JOPES)) and three product areas (Situational Awareness, Infrastructure and Intelligence). Along with sustainment and synchronization, GCCS-J will focus on modernization efforts by modifying and enhancing elements or capabilities in order to implement new requirements, enhance functionality, increase efficiency or lower operating/deployment costs while taking advantage of the progress made by current operational systems and incorporating agile technologies and capabilities. The modernization efforts include Cross Domain Services (CDS), Enterprise Common Operational Picture (E-COP), Agile Client (AC) and Joint C2 Common User Interface (JC2CUI).

Value to Our Mission Partners

GCCS-J is the Department of Defense (DoD) joint Command and Control (C2) system of record. GCCS-J supports Commanders and staffs as they conduct joint and multinational operations by providing a fused picture of the battle space within an integrated system that is supporting joint warfighter needs today. GCCS-J has been tasked with completing the evolution of the current operational system into a fully modern, affordable C2 system capable of supporting joint needs across the Department to include that of the GCCS Family of Systems (FoS). GCCS-J incorporates the core planning and assessment tools required by Combatant Commanders and their subordinate Joint Task Force Commanders while meeting the readiness support requirements of the Services. To achieve this, GCCS-J provides the situational awareness, imagery exploitation, indications and warning, collaborative planning, course-of-action development, intelligence mission support, and real-time combat execution capabilities needed to accelerate operational tempo and conduct successful military operations in the modern crisis environment.
