Comments accepted until March 25 on proposed BPA I-5 Transmission Corridor

Seattle – The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is seeking comments until March 25 on a permit application from the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) to build a 500-kilolt (kV) lattice steel tower transmission line that would run from a new 500-kV substation near Castle Rock, Wash., to a new 500-kV substation near Troutdale, Ore. The proposed transmission line corridor would be about 79.8 miles long, and up to 150 feet wide.

BELLEVUE – The public provided more than 124,000 comments on the scope of an upcoming environmental impact statement (EIS) for a proposed bulk-cargo shipping terminal and rail spur improvements at Cherry Point, according to a preliminary count by the three agencies that conducted a recently-concluded four-month public comment period.
