What We Buy

New Medical Products or Ideas

Do you have a new medical product or idea that may save lives, minimize casualties, reduce pain and suffering, accelerate healing, or medically benefit our servicemembers in some other way? Unsolicited proposals allow unique and innovative products or ideas that have been developed outside the Government to be made available to Government agencies for use in accomplishment of their missions.  (See Federal Acquisition Regulations FAR 15.6)

For more information concerning unsolicited proposals and submitting a new product or idea for evaluation, please visit the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command, Office of Small Business Programs website at http://www.mrmc.smallbusopps.army.mil/ and scroll down to the link for New Products and Ideas Submission.

Is your new product appropriate for the austere environment of field medicine rather than bricks-and-mortar hospitals? Consider displaying it at one of the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command's Vendor Days. Additional informatin can be found at USAMRMC Vendor Days.

Does your innovative idea/concept relate to psychological health or Traumatic Brain Injury? Consider submitting it to the Defense Centers of Excellence for Psychological Health & Traumatic Brain Injury.

System for Award Management (SAM)

The General Services Administration launched the new System for Award Management (SAM) on July 30, 2012 to little fanfare. SAM is in the process of replacing nine legacy systems previously used in federal procurement, starting with the first phase which included the CCR, ORCA, FedReg, and EPLS systems. Future deployments over the coming years will include CFDA, eSRS, FBO, FPDS-NG, FSRS, PPIRS, and WDOL, according to the SAM website.

There is a SAM Overview briefing available on You Tube. Additional Information and user guides are available on the SAM website. (Please be patient if there performance issues with the SAM website as the new system is implemented.)
