What You’ll Find
A diverse ecosystem and natural treasure, where people can sense, explore, and imagine; where magnificent buttes and cliffs create unique habitats above the desert expanses and water turns canyons into corridors of life. To some a sacred place, this landscape has inspired and shaped diverse peoples for over 10,000 years.Designated as Arizona's first "All-American Road," the Red Rock Scenic Byway winds through Sedona's Red Rock Country, often called a "museum without walls." Travelers are amazed by the high desert's power, diversity, and sense of intimacy with nature. Inhabited for thousands of years, the stunning red rocks are alive with a timeless spirit that captivates and inspires.
The crisp, sunny air of fall is a great time to view the giant red rocks, clear blue skies and golden cottonwoods. It is also a favored season for hiking, biking, and even golf—there are three public courses along or near the byway.
