Living in the Golden Area

The National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) is located in Golden, Colorado, just west of Denver, the state's capital. Called the Mile High City because of its elevation, Denver is a city filled with history, culture, and entertainment. It's also home to several professional sports teams and offers plenty of activities for the amateur sports enthusiast. But more important, Denver and Golden boast a beautiful location at the foot of the Rocky Mountains. The cities are surrounded by nature, which is exclusive to the state of Colorado.

The City of Golden provides information on city departments, parks and recreation, and other community resources. The site also lists up-to-date information on community news and events. Visit Golden's 2-Hour Vacation site for dining options, shopping, and local activities.

Several useful Denver Web sites, including the Denver Convention and Visitors Bureau and the City and County of Denver provide relocation information plus fun things to do once you get here.
