Originally designed as a land-based, long-range, anti-submarine warfare patrol aircraft, the mission of the P-3C has evolved to include surveillance of the battle space at sea or over land. VP-26 is currently on a six-month deployment supporting maritime patrol operations and the Global War on Terror.
