MEDITERRANEAN SEA (Nov. 9, 2011) - Divers prepare to conduct diving operations from the German minehunter FGS Bad Bevensen during a mine countermeasure training scenario as part of Standing NATO Mine Countermeasure Group (SNMCMG) training exercise Ariadne 2011. During the exercise, participating staffs and units from Germany, Greece,Italy, Spain, Turkey and the U.S. trained in mine countermeasure and worked together to enhance the cooperation level and improve mutual training and interoperability among participating units. Conducting training engagements in foreign waters expands each country's mine countermeasure capabilities by presenting unique environmental and geographic areas in which to operate.
