  • The United States Embassy in Zagreb formally presented the Knin Hospital with two new incubators for neonatal care and other medical supplies on Dec. 15, 2010. The donation is sponsored by the United States European Command in Stuttgart, Germany. The U.S. Department of Defense provided $20,000 through U.S. European Command's Civil Military Operations. The Vranje Medical Center is the most remote medical center in Serbia, providing services to more than 228,000 citizens and is responsible for several international and heavily congested roads where numerous serious traffic accidents occur each year. For these reason, the Vranje Medical Center requires a reliable ambulance vehicle for transport of patients to the medical center and, in the case of severe injuries or medical conditions, to a distant major medial institution.
