Career Opportunities at the Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission

The Medicaid and CHIP Payment and Access Commission (MACPAC) is a Congressional support agency that provides independent, nonpartisan policy and data analysis on payment, access and other issues affecting Medicaid and the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).  MACPAC’s charge is to provide objective advice to the Congress on Medicaid and CHIP, the federal government’s largest programs providing health care coverage to low-income individuals.


We are looking for a talented, diverse workforce with strong analytic and technical abilities in health policy, public health, public policy, political science, health administration, health services research and health economics.  We are recruiting candidates with knowledge of Medicaid and CHIP policy issues, and health care data systems.  Detailed information about the professional skill sets required are included in the specific job descriptions below.

The ability to develop and manage projects, translate work products into meaningful policy analysis, develop and deliver presentations, and write effectively are key factors for successful candidates for all positions within MACPAC. Experience working with federal, state or local governments is preferred, but not required.  Advanced degrees are preferred.
