Deep Vadose Zone Technologies Public Information Exchange Summary
Thanks to all who participated in the Deep Vadose Zone Technology Screening Information Exchange held on June 7, 2011 at the Shilo Inn in Richland, Washington. More than 30 representatives of the Tri-Party Agreement (TPA) agencies, Tribal Nations, and various stakeholder groups gathered to discuss the initial list of technologies that the TPA agencies are exploring to address contamination in the deep soils on Hanford’s Central Plateau. The notes and presentations from the information exchange are available below. The input received during the information exchange will be used by the TPA agencies during screening of the remediation technologies for the deep vadose zone. The TPA agencies involved stakeholders early in the decision-making process and will continue to provide periodic updates and request input as this cleanup project progresses. A formal public involvement process for this work will take place when the proposed plan is released.
