Description
Federation of State Boards of Physical Therapy (FSBPT) provides data on the number of licensed physical therapists nationally. This information is provided to American Physical Therapy Association (APTA). APTA then calculates the number of practicing physical therapists through a formula filter out individuals with multiple licenses. APTA is the organization responsible for those numbers which is gathered from its Department of Research (total number of PTs) and the American Board of Specialist in Physical Therapy (ABSPT) (total number of geriatric specialists). The certifying entity provides data on how many physical therapists are certified in geriatrics annually.
