FEC to Hold Public Hearing on NPRM on Candidates’ and Officeholders’ Participation in Non-Federal Fundraising Events Tuesday, March 16, 10 a.m. – 12:15 p.m. FEC Hearing Room
WASHINGTON—The Federal Election Commission will hold a public hearing Tuesday, March 16, at 10 a.m., on the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on Participation by Federal Candidates and Officeholders at Non-Federal Fundraising Events. The NPRM proposed rules regarding federal candidates’ and officeholders’ participation at non-federal fundraising events, as well as their inclusion in publicity relating to such events. The proposed rules are in response to the opinion of the Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit in Shays v. FEC, 528 F.3d 914 (D.C. Cir. 2008).
