The New Federal Fiscal Year Starts on Monday (October 1)

While some of us in the Washington Office were down in Jacksonville at TREA’s National Convention talking to many of you about your needs and legislative concerns, Congress left town to go home and campaign. So we returned to a much quieter town. Things are certainly still happening here—but it is your home districts and states where most of the drama is. Election season is when you should get commitments from your candidates to protect your earned military and veteran benefits. Go to campaign events; go to town hall meetings. And speak to your candidates and their staffs about the service you have given and the promises that were made. Get commitments. The campaigns and news outlets are surveying veterans on how they plan to vote. This is the time that all the candidates should be listening to your concerns.

And we are listening too. It was wonderful to hear in person the concerns and questions of TREA members. If you could not be in Jacksonville; we missed you. But please do not hesitate to call the Washington Office with your concerns and suggestions. After all we are here for you.
