Thompson Requests More Info on Maritime Cargo Screening
Wednesday, July 25, 2012 - July 25, 2012 (WASHINGTON) – Today, Rep. Bennie G. Thompson (D-MS), Ranking Member of the House Committee on Homeland Security, sent a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano asking for more details on maritime cargo security efforts and the state of the 100 cargo screening mandate set in law by the “Implementing the Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007.” This request comes following today’s hearing on “Understanding the Homeland Threat Landscape”.
