Ontario Street to Close Temporarily
Ontario Street, from California Avenue west to N. 500th Avenue (County Line Road), will be closed beginning on Wednesday, Jan. 18, weather permitting, and continuing for up to five days.

Ames MLK Day Celebration POSTPONED to Jan. 23
NOTE: This event was postponed due to inclement weather. The event has been rescheduled to Monday, Jan. 23, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Ames Middle School, 3915 Mortensen Road. The Ames Human Relations Commission, in partnership with several community organizations, invites the public to attend “Equality, Justice and Unity: Ames Community MLK Day Celebration” from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 16, 2017 at the Ames Middle School, 3915 Mortensen Road. The keynote speaker will be Dr. Daniel Spikes, assistant professor with Iowa State University’s School of Education.

Forums Scheduled to Educate Public on Community Development Block Grant Funding
The City of Ames will host two public forums to educate the public on the status and the future of the City’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and to gather public feedback for its 2017-2018 Annual Action Plan projects.
