Friday, March 23, 2012 - The Department of Transportation's Bureau of Transportation Statistics (BTS) today released a Special Report, A Decade of Change in Fuel Prices and U.S. Domestic Passenger Aviation Operations, examining changes in U.S. domestic passenger aviation operations related to fuel price increases over the last decade. The report examines fuel costs in relation to airline operating costs, airfare trends and revenues, and capacity reductions. The report also provides a description of changes in the amount of fuel burned due to productivity and efficiency improvements. The report may be viewed on the Bureau of Transportation Statistic's website. Other BTS special reports are also available.
