The Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI) is a non-profit health-advocacy group based in Washington, D.C., that focuses on improving nutrition, food safety, and public health. CSPI publishes Nutrition Action Healthletter, the nation’s largest circulation nutrition newsletter. CSPI provides valuable, objective information to the public; represents citizens’ interests before legislative, regulatory, and judicial bodies, and ensures that advances in science are used for the public good. The selected person will support the executive director on projects related to health and nutrition, provide general administrative support, assist with writing reports, letters, and factsheets and help edit and fact-check reports and maintain director’s calendar, including scheduling internal and external meetings and making travel arrangements.

The American Diabetes Association seeks a Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs and Community Information to help lead the fight against the deadly consequences of diabetes and fight for those affected by the disease. The ideal candidate will possess an MD, DO, MPH or MD/PhD degree with extensive knowledge of the medical care of people with diabetes, public health and health policy as it related to our knowledge of diabetes. He/she will report to the Chief Scientific and Medical Officer and will have the primary responsibility for providing operational and strategic guidance and overseeing the daily work activities of the Association’s Medical Affairs, Prevention, Nutrition, Information Resources, Education Recognition, and Center for Information and Community Support functions, as well as the management and accountability for the associated annual operating budgets. A successful candidate will be recognized as a thought leader in the field of diabetes treatment and/or research, a mission-driven individual who can embrace and commit to the American Diabetes Association’s Mission and Core Values.
