Arrived in Aug 1975 at 17 years old. Stationed in C btry 3/7 ADA Hawk. Moved off post in 76 and lived in Oberhaid. Met my wife there and got married in 77 in Ba...mberg. A pastor on post helped me get er done in two days as I was being transferred to Kitzigen. Still married after almost 40 years.
Sad I never got to go back.

Was stationed there with G troop 2/2 ACR 80-82. Made a lot of friends local and military. Always wanted to go back. Would love to walk our old patrol routs along the old border line. SCOUTS OUT!

August 26 will be the last day of business for USAG Bamberg's vehicle registration.

Bamberg Postal Service Center is now closed. As of 4 August, all remaining Bamberg Community members' mail will be put in "General Delivery Status". USAG Bamberg DPTMS will be the location point for mail pickup. The office is located at building 7089, third floor, room 309. They are open Mon-Fri 11 a.m.-3 p.m. USAG Ansbach Postal Service will support the mail mission until closure 30 Sep 2014.

The traffic lights at the railway underpass at Bamberg's Zollnerstrasse are broken. According to a press release from the city of Bamberg, the traffic flow has been changed, a speed limit has been established (30 km/h). Vehicles coming from Brennerstrasse can only take a right, until the problem has been fixed, which is expected by early next week.

The USAG Bamberg vehicle registration office will be closed on Tuesday, 29 July, but will be open on Monday, 28 July, Wednesday, 30 July and (as an exception) Thursday 31 July.

USAG Bamberg's vehicle registration will be closed Thursdays and Fridays, effective 21 July. For assistance on those days, customers can use the Schweinfurt or Ansbach vehicle registration office.     (Please delete if not allowed) ~•●Please share●•~ We are looking for... Fidel Cortez, 63, born on February 8th, 1953 in El Paso, TX. In 1974 he was in the Army, stationed overseas in Bamberg, Germany where he met and got married to a German Lady. They had two children, son Robert, who was born in August of 1975 and a year later they had their son Michael, born in July of 1976. His sons in Germany, Robert and Michael, would like to reach out and contact their father.
