Homeland Security Transportation Security Subcommittee to Hold Oversight Hearing on TSA Workforce – TOMORROW

Washington, D.C. – The Homeland Security Subcommittee on Transportation Security, chaired by Rep. Mike Rogers (R-AL), will hold a hearing entitled “Rightsizing TSA Bureaucracy and Workforce Without Compromising Security” tomorrow at 2:00 p.m. in 311 Cannon House Office Building.

At tomorrow’s hearing, the Subcommittee will examine the size of TSA’s bureaucracy and how to prevent further unnecessary expansion. Members will have the opportunity to examine the impact TSA’s growing bureaucracy has on security effectiveness and the agency’s efficiency, and how to rightsize the agency.

Rogers said: “The growth of TSA's bureaucracy has outpaced the number of travelers the agency was designed to protect. The goal of this hearing is to more fully understand why this is the case, and hear what steps TSA plans to take to address this problem.  Securing our nation's transportation systems is paramount, and for that reason we must ensure that every dollar TSA spends directly addresses that goal."
