Education
A solid education is paramount to our children’s future and thus the future of our country. Although most funding designated for elementary and secondary education comes from state, local, and private sources, federal support is necessary for a strong education system. Additionally, I support strong initiatives to ensure school safety including significant community involvement, oversight and coordination between law enforcement, elected leaders, schools, parents and youth. Federal funding for the availability of safe afterschool programs should be available for those in the most need. I am committed to ensuring that action on a federal level help to build a stronger education system with effective curriculum that equips students to meet the demands of the 21st century.
