    Today, I joined my colleagues in Congress and GA Farmers in calling for passage of the Farm Bill now. This is a critical piece of legislation that can't fall victim to the gridlock in Washington. I was proud to bring Member's together on the last Farm Bill, and looking forward to doing the same for this one.

    Today, we put aside our differences and come together as a nation to honor the the thousands of lives that were lost on September 11, 2001 and in the war on terror. We will never forget the Americans on perished that day and the warriors who paid the ultimate price to defend our freedoms. United We Stand.

    With the U.S. Debt now at $16 trillion, Congress must get serious about balancing the budget and making responsible cuts in wasteful spending. I've voted for over $2 trillion in spending cuts and called on my colleagues to pass a Balanced Budget Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. See my speech below from last year.

    Check out our visit to the Waynesboro Primary School yesterday. Had a great visit with students and teachers, and we donated some books from the Library of Congress' Surplus Book Program. Glad we could help them fill the shelves with good books for the students.

    Today, we kicked off our tour of senior centers across the 12th District. I'm travelling around letting folks know that I'm working hard to strengthen and protect Social Security and Medicare for our senior citizens. We had a great crowd at our stop in Sylvania.
