Visiting USAMMCE

If you plan to visit USAMMCE, in Pirmasens, Germany, here are some answers to frequently asked questions:

  • What Airport do I fly into?
    Frankfurt International Airport is the Point of Entry when traveling from the United States.
     
  • How do I get to USAMMCE?
    There are several ways to get here from the airport. You can find directions on the USAMMCE web site, or any commercial website (MapQuest etc.). USAMMCE is the largest Medical Logistics Center in the US Army, it is located on a remote work site in Pirmasens, Germany, about 1.5 hrs away from Frankfurt Airport and 35 min away from Kaiserslautern, Ramstein Airbase, and Landstuhl. Kaiserslautern and Ramstein make up the largest Military community in Europe.

  • How do I go about a getting a country clearance to come to Germany?
    While planning your trip, contact your local Country Clearance POC or the Security Manager at your site to request a country clearance for you. Keep in mind that most clearances require at least a 30 day lead time. A US Passport is required to enter Germany and to obtain a country clearance.
     
  • What is required to connect to the USAMMCE network with my laptop?
    In order to connect to our network, you must have Administrative rights on your computer. When you get here, our IMD personnel will scan your computer, after which they will give you access. Your point of contact here at USAMMCE will help you with getting this accomplished when you get here.
     
  • Where do I stay?
