Since you just sent me an email telling me to remember 9/11, I thought I should remind you as a member of Congress to grant medical aid to 9/11 responders who have been dying of cancer and lung disease that the current Republican controlled Congress does not want to help. Is this part of your program to reduce the deficit?

  2. My deepest condolences to the families of Ambassador Stevens and the 3 others killed in Libya. These attacks are an outrage and the killers must be brought to justice.
  3. Today marks 11 years since the September 11th attacks on our country. It is my hope that not just on the anniversary of 9/11, but every day, we will remember the innocent lives lost - and their loved ones who were left without fathers and mothers, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters. We should make a special remembrance of the first responders, the passengers of Flight 93, and all the heroes ...
who ran in to danger so that others might live. They have the eternal thanks of a grateful nation.

In the 11 years since 9/11, we have made great progress. Today we are safer and that credit is due largely to our law enforcement, first responders, military and intelligence community who tirelessly work to secure our great nation. And although we are safer, the threat of terrorism remains. We must be vigilant and never become complacent.

  6. This weekend, Mark Kelly spoke to Congressman Meehan about the need to address ALS related issues in Washington. As legislators ask for your support, make sure they support the ALS Registry, the ALS Research Project at the Department of Defense, and the MODDERN Cures Act.

  8. Today I was honored to receive the Medical Imaging & Technology Alliance (MITA) 2012 “Access to Innovation” Award. These technologies not only help save lives, they help grow our economy in Pennsylvania. I appreciate this recognition from MITA, and I will continue working with my colleagues in Congress to ensure that patients have access to life-saving medical imaging technologies.
