About the class:  This hands-on class will highlight advanced PubMed techniques that can be used to conduct comprehensive searches.  Recent changes to PubMed will be highlighted.  Attendees are encouraged to contribute past and present difficult searches to discuss with the class.  Participants will receive 3 hours of continuing education credit awarded by the Medical Library Association.  Registration is free and limited to 20 participants.

• Demonstrated expertise in the use of numeric data resources and an understanding of the application of numeric data in biomedical sciences. Knowledge and experience with metadata and cataloging standards and schema such as Dublin Core, METS, MODS, AACR2, RDA, MeSH, and NLM classification.

The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey is seeking an Information & Education Librarian for its George F. Smith Library of the Health Sciences, located in Newark, NJ.

The Information & Education Librarian is responsible for the provision of in-person and virtual reference, and education services, in support of the educational, research, clinical, and community service missions of the UMDNJ. This position participates in the implementation of library and informatics training programs for the Newark and Scotch Plains campuses, as well as for University-wide Moodle courses, and is part of a team of librarians who make up the Information and Education department at the Smith Library.  The Information & Education Librarian utilizes the Web and other media to provide quality services for the UMDNJ community, evaluating, developing, and teaching both informal instructional sessions and formal classes to groups and individuals in the use of scholarly databases, electronic indexes, and full-text resources.  This position reports to the Associate Director of the George F. Smith Library of the Health Sciences.

The Information & Education Librarian is scheduled to work Monday – Friday.
