The metalcasting industry used about 367 trillion Btu of energy in 1998, including electricity losses. Approximately 230 trillion Btu each of natural gas, coke and breeze, and electricity (excluding losses) were used, together with small amounts of LPG and coal. Electricity losses represent another 130 trillion Btu. [MECS 1998]
