The SGO unites all members of the gynecologic oncology team in an effort to eradicate women's cancer.

SGO Releases Survivorship Toolkit for Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month 

SGO has developed a number of resources to help guide survivors on next steps after treatment. The Survivorship Toolkit can be used in conjunction with information physicians already provide to patients as they complete treatment. These tools include a treatment summary and survivorship care plans, a self-care, information cards and a survivorship calendar. Read the full press release in the SGO Newsroom.

Fellows and Residents: Submit your Original Research for Presentation

As a part of SGO’s 18th Annual Winter Meeting, Feb. 7-9, 2013, the conference will again include a Resident and Fellow Poster Session. Submitted research will be considered for both oral and poster presentations.  

To submit your abstract for consideration, please complete a Resident and Fellow Poster Submission Form before November 16, 2012. All submissions must be in accordance with the Abstract Submission Rules.

In an interview posted by Englewood Hospital in Englewood, NJ, SGO member Nimesh Nagarsheth, MD, Director of Gynecologic Oncology and Associate Director of Robotic Surgery at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center, discusses his efforts to increase gynecologic cancer awareness through music. These efforts include his new book, "Music and Cancer," and a band comprised of other SGO members, N.E.D. (No Evidence of Disease). Sept. 27, 2012

In a television interview with CBS Denver Channel 4, SGO member Monique A. Spillman, MD, PhD, discusses research at the University of Colorado Cancer Center to develop a test to find ovarian cancer when it can still be cured. Sept. 20, 2012

While cysts are common among women of childbearing age, they are considered rare in young girls who have not undergone puberty. SGO member Judith Wolf, MD, division chief of surgery at MD Anderson Cancer in Houston, discusses a recent case involving a Connecticut girl on ABC News. Sept. 19, 2012

In an interview with the New York Daily News, Nimesh Nagarsheth, MD, assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, NY, discusses the importance of being a proactive patient, and why the difficulty of early detection makes ovarian cancer deadlier than other cancers.
