Yosemite-area Wildflower Viewing: Learn more about Yosemite's wildflower walks and common wildflower species. Examine the BLM's Merced River Canyon and the Sierra National Forest websites.

California Wildflower Viewing: Time a trip to view wildflowers at nearby federal lands. Follow Death Valley and Joshua Tree national parks' wildflower watches, where color began in early February. Track flower sightings at Carrizo Plain National Monument through the Theodore Payne Foundation's wildflower hotline, covering much of Southern California through its weekly alerts in March through May.

Rockfall events have helped shape many of the outstanding features along Yosemite Valley's walls, including Royal Arches, North Dome, and Half Dome. Giant talus slopes that slant away from the Valley walls accumulate debris with each rockfall event.
